QTR on a Mac (10.3.7)

QTR on a Mac (10.3.7)

2005-04-02 by geoff_badner

Hi... I downloaded QTR a few weeks ago and have been having some
fairly good results with my prints. However, I'm having trouble
getting the final tweaks worked out. I can't quite get the truely
neutral prints that I want (though they are very close). I have a
couple of questions. Any help you guys can provide would be great.

1: Is is really possible to get neutral prints with the standard Epson
inks on a 2200? My prints are really really close, but even printing
on a cool setting there's a little warmness in them. If not, any
suggestions?

2: I'm having trouble following in the workflow directions that come
with the RIP. The screen shots in the Read Me do not look like my
print dialog boxes. I'm guessing this is because Mac has updated its
OS since the Read Me was made. Does anyone know of a workflow document
for OS 10.3.7? There are options that need to be set in the Read Me
that I don't see in mine.

3:Has anyone listed their paper/warm-cool curve combinations anywhere
on this site or elsewhere? I think this would be really helpful...
especially for us noobies :-)

Thanks for you help on my first post.

I'm a fairly new QTR user also, and I use a Mac (10.3.7) and the Epson 2200. To get a
neutral print I choose my paper, then choose cool for curve #1, then warm for curve #2
and the prints come out dead neutral. Try this and see if it works. Also maybe let the print
cure overnight then view it in the morning light to see how it looks.
