I'm using Harrington's QuadtonRIP/QTRgui Front End for the first time. When I try to load a tiff image I get an error message "Invalid Floating Point Operation" What's going on??? Thanks Larry

Check your TIFF. It should not be CMYK format. Should not have layers nor alpha channels. If the tiff is small enough, send it to me for further analysis. -Stephen www.sbillard.org/Stephen

Thank you Stephen for your response. 1)The file is too large to mail (4x5 neg scanned @1200dpi: file size 400,000K) 2) The file is 'Grayscale' 3) I don't even know what 'alpha channels' are, so I don't think it has any of them 4) The original *.psd file had only one layer. I prepared a second image: ie edit in Photoshop CS and save as tiff; then tried to load it into QTR and got the same "Invalid Floating Point Operation" error message. Thanks again for your help...Larry

Other things to check: what compression is used when saving? ZIP and JPEG compression are not supported. Could you burn a CD and mail it? Contact me off list if so. -Stephen www.sbillard.org/Stephen

Stephen Thanks again; I found the problem---I had saved the file as a 16 bit (vrs 8bit)tiff. As soon as I resaved the file in 8 bit format, it loaded right up and printed. I have so much to learn...Thanks again, Larry

16 bit should have worked. Maybe just saving the file fixed a file corruption. (Of course, 16 bit is overkill.) -Stephen www.sbillard.org/Stephen
