QTR on 9600 - max roll length?

QTR on 9600 - max roll length?

2005-04-22 by john dean

Does anyone know how long of a print one can make with QTR on the 9600?
I have a job coming up that someone wants to be 12 feet long. I don't think
QTR and gimp driver is capable of that but, what is it capable of , 6 feet?

I've successfully printer to 15 feet long on the 7600 via Qimage.
but i scale the image in photoshop to the appropriate qimage file size
limit. which comes at that size to about 180dpi and the results are
great. The dpi between 180 and 300 is so slight it's unnoticable.

Well, after not getting any response last week I tried some tests of my own and
I was able to print the 12 feet long wave panorama ( a test strip only ) with
QTR on the 9600.

Interestingly enough I had to use the QTR sheet paper setting. When I set to
the QTR roll paper option with the printer set to use auto paper cutter, it
trimmed the print off after the first foot. With the QTR roll paper with trim off , it
printed thin black trim lines about every foot or so right through the image.
Very strange. But with the sheet paper setting in QTR and on the printer, even
though it was a roll, it worked perfect. Go figure.
