MIS UT Cartridge Failure

MIS UT Cartridge Failure

2005-04-24 by Jon Witsell

Anybody have this problem on their 2200?

I'm working on some contact sheets that WERE supposed to be delivered this weekend...
but when I installed my last fresh 75% Black (Cyan position for IJC/OPM) cart, the first print
looked a little odd (flat, dark). It was late so I tried to figure out if I had changed
something on accident. On the third print I had to stop printing because in the shadow
area ink was literally pooling on the print. The ink well under the cart is pooled up with ink
also. Since I need to deliver this work, I let the printer sit overnight and did a nozzle check
this morning. Zero, zilch, nada. Not a drop of ink out of the cart.

The irony of the whole situation is that I ordered a CFS 10 days ago because I'm fed up
with dealing with carts. Unfortunately, it is backordered... I guess I'll only be done with
carts after some kicking and screaming.

-sigh-

Jon,

Bummer. Sorry to hear about the problem. But it's a fact of life -
occasionally a cart will go bad. I've learned (the hard way) to keep
at least two backups. With the new top-fill carts it's much easier
because with chip swapping they can go in any position, so you only
need a few empties on hand to cover any contingency.

Clayton
