Ok I am not happy with Photokit Sharpener and the images from my 1Ds MKII

their sharpening
workflows (packaged or manual). There is some discussion here

I am currently reviewing the Phase One Camera One v. 3.51 for Rangefinder
Magazine. It is, by far, the smoothest, lowest noise, most accurate color, and
best sharpening I have ever seen from my Mk II's. Batch processing in the
background, quick proofs, etc. You can get a lite version for $99 which has most
of the features but is limited to only 20 images per batch.

Hi Claude

I assume you mean Capture One Pro? Why not review 3.6 or 3.7RC? There is
discussion on Rob Galbraith's forums that ACR3 beats it...

Recently C1 removed the 20 image batch limit in the Lite version.

That's good to know. But, now what does the full version do that Lite does
not?

If they get some of the clunkiness out of RSE, it's still a deal for the
money (free).

As to initial sharpening of images, I think the programs over sharpen in
that early stage. I still think the Camera Sharpen action I use is just
enough to overcome the initial loss without degrading: 300 .3 0 in USM.
This was originally brought up by Bruce Fraser. (Actually, I use .5)

The ONLY problem I have found with creating it as an action is it reverts to
your previous settings, so you must check it when you launch CS. Why it
won't set the values even though it was part of creating the action I don't
know.
