OT: User name/ email adress

OT: User name/ email adress

2001-12-05 by Bernhard.Schuerlein@t-online.de

Can anyone give me a hint? I\ufffdd like to send away with this email adress
because the other pop3 server I use to send with is often blocked.

Now my email adress shows up instead of the user name. I checked my Yahoo
settings, but didn\ufffdt find an option where to change this...

Any helping ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Bernhard

Bernhard,

look at our Files section and you will see how to put your name in the yaho=
o
profile: "Your name instead of a partial email address on posts ".

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint/files/List-relat=
ed
%20matters/

And by the way, this may be helpful to others who have joined recently. It'=
s
much nicer to see a name on the list of authors instead of some truncated
email address!

Hope this helps.

Antonis

Antonis,

I think what he's talking about is related to all this wacky Yahoo
business lately. The name that shows up on my posts also
changed yesterday as well, to my Yahoo sign-in name. I tried to
go in and alter it, but got all kinds of error messages.
Something's weird with Yahoo; plus the board being down for
hours yesterday.

Problem is, I don't have any solution or suggestion for him. I'm
as stumped as he is.

Mark, Antonis,

I hit a bit of this a couple of months back. Half the time Yahoo used
my name and the other half my e-mail address. This started out of not
where and then abruptly stopped. So waiting a bit may be the
solution.

I have had a couple of other reports off list of people not being
able to get into Files or receiving 2 copies of every post.

See, Yahoo is doing it to me too and everything is correct in my
profile. Yahoo is using your Yahoo account name in place of your real
name. Hope this blows over soon.
