Digital BW, The Print

I'm new to printing and have just started using PR using UC inks and 
BO method (whilst I await for my MIS UT7 inks).

With this ink/paper setup in mind, is it necessary to be using 
protective sprays on the final print? I am entering a couple of photo 
competitions so in this case I'm assuming yes, with so many handling 
the prints.

Are all the sprays similar in quality (and bad for your lungs)?

Available in Australia?
