UT7 Inks+QTR+2200....Mysterious Problem Here

UT7 Inks+QTR+2200....Mysterious Problem Here

2005-07-05 by SteveZ

Today I just started using UT7 inks with QTR and I'm baffled by the
vertical banding I'm experiencing with the 2200 on
EEM. Now....when I use Paul Roark's worflow/curves with the Epson
Driver the banding disappears and the prints turn out fine.

Weird huh?

Is this a QTR problem? A 2200 problem? An inkset problem?
I believe I'm using the correct UT7 Curves for QTR as generously
provided to me by Daniel Staver but I wouldn't think that would be a
factor.

Any suggestions on how to correct this?

I would also like to add that the prints made using QTR/UT7 Curves
turn out much richer and overall much better (except for the banding)
than using the Epson driver, which is really frustrating for me.

Why would this be?

Hello Steve,

If the banding is broad and in opposite direction to head travel, try
up or down-rezzing the image about 20% and see if that makes any
difference.

Clayton

Clayton, the banding is mostly fine vertical (micro?) in nature
although I have experienced some of the broader banding as
well. I'm going to try up/down rezzing as you suggested and see
if it helps. Thanks!
