Bob,
Was that the "Eye-one display" (version 1) or ". . . display 2", as they
named them? Display 2 has that capacity with Match software, but the
original version has some inherent limitation that cripples it for
GretagMacbeth's Match software and, apparently, for BabelColor also.
I went to the BasICColor website and it wasn't all that informative, plus
the trial download is almost 25 Meg, which, with dial-up, is a chunk of
time, so I held off. Also, their website really wasn't all that well
designed - no file download size info up-front or even at registration; poor
listing of features/compatibility without a large(?) .pdf download (which
wouldn't work for me with Firefox anyway); delayed loading of information
while pretty graphics loaded instead. All in all, not a way to encourage me
to spend the time to see if it *happens* to offer better functionality than
other color programs. I guess they only want to do business with DSL users
or people who are getting paid to waste their time.

I seem to remember reading that BasiColor will allow you to do this; just
checked and the manual says:-
"Clicking on the "Chromaticity Coordinates" radio
button activates the "Measure" button, which allows you to use the
calibration sensor
connected to your computer to measure various sources of light. You can
measure the
true color temperature of your light booth, for example, which often
deviates from the
standard 5000 Kelvin,"
