Purchasing "interesting" papers in Canada

Purchasing "interesting" papers in Canada

2005-08-16 by Jordan Wosnick

Dear friends,

I am relatively new (~4 months) to B&W inkjet printing with an
Epson C86 and MIS-EZ inks. So far I've been using EEM, which is
pretty cheap and easily available here in Toronto.

In perusing the usual photography supply haunts here, though, I see
basically none of the inkjet papers so frequently mentioned in this
group (Hahnemuhle, Moab, etc.)

Can anyone in Toronto or elsewhere in Canada recommend stores
(bricks and mortar or on-line) that have a good selection of
reasonably priced inkjet paper?

Many thanks

Jordan

Vistek, on Queen East, has a reasonable selection, including Moab. They
don't carry Hahnemuhle though.

Jordan,

CCBC on King St W near Spadina.
Talk to Bradley about their PremierArt papers and some samples to try.

Jordan, probably you didn't find Hahnemule anywhere because there was no
distribution for it in Canada. If any dealer had it, it was because they
were importing it themselves. That has changed recently as Amplis Photo
(Hasselblad, Sinar, etc, etc) now has distribution for Hahnemule.
http://www.amplis.com/index_main.html , tel: 905.477.4111 fx 905.477.2502.
Give them a call, they are helpful people and should be able to direct you
to dealers who stock Hahnemule.

good luck

Vistek has Moab plus a few other art type papers. My favourate store
is Tricera on Carlaw. They have really good deal on Epson papers and
also some others.. Although their business hours' odd.
