Inkset for r200

Inkset for r200

2005-08-22 by John Moody

I have an r200 on the way from office depot. Ill likely sell the included
ink on ebay, for a net printer cost of $39.

After much consideration, I plan to order a set of UT7 inks except put
UT-FS-Y in the Y spot. Ill use QTR, and create custom profiles as needed.
My desire is dot-free printing, experimenting with both matte and glossy.
Most images will be landscapes, with some architectural type images.
I would love a look like 2200 BO on EVFA, but with only moderate warmth, and
no dots. I know, thats asking a lot.
Any suggestions, pro or con on the ink selection would be appreciated.

Best regards,
John Moody

Excellent. :-)

That should do it. I'm going to make an inkset that will allow Epson driver
printing easily with the R200, but with QTR, UT7 + FS-Y should be excellent.

Clayton found a paper setting that seemed to give good BO. My only try did
not make adequate prints. I'm not sure what paper type Clayton used. Also,
like with the C86, I suspect the BO quality will be more variable with the
R200 than with the more expensive printers.

Yes indeed it is. BO is synonymous with dots, and the dots are the
reason BO has it's unique look. If you figure out how to get the BO
look without the dots please let us know.

As Paul said, I have managed to get real decent BO from my R200 using
Eboni ink. I found the best results on matte papers with the "Photo
Quality Ink Jet paper" setting.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Clayton

Clayton:

How do your R200 BO results compare with what you were getting from
the 2200?

Thanks,
David

Excellent. :-)
Well, that was fast, ink gone in 1 day with buy-it-now. After all tax,
shipping, ebay, etc. net printer cost was $44, what a deal.
