Trim your posts please!

Trim your posts please!

2005-09-23 by Rusty Knorr

Can everyone please trim your posts? If you are
checking mail with limited time, it is impossible to
scroll through everything to find what you need. Thank
you all, Rusty

You may want to use the Yahoo interface instead of email, then you only
have to read those things that look like they're of interest.

That is no excuse for consistent forgetfulness - please trim. But receiving
emails in individual form rather than in Digest form makes the most sense
(especially when coupled with a mail folder rule). You can stop reading at
any point in a post without the need to scroll through to the next post in
the Digest - or you can delete posts not relating to subjects of interest
immediately.

cant you guys just set your email reader to put all the junk at the
bottom and the new stuff at the top? Then it is not required to
scroll through anything....DM

Sure ;)

coping w/this list (was Re: [Digital BW] Re: Trim your posts please!)

2005-09-23 by Sam McCandless

I agree with Steve. Now that I've been on the list a while, I find
even relatively long lists of new-to-me posts easy to deal with
quickly, and only partly because, while at first I was curious about
everything but am now more focused. One thing I learned when I was at
least skimming each post, is that what's on the subject line becomes
misleading as the thread drifts, or is "hijacked", as it grows. When
I have time, I still sometimes open every post, although without even
skimming all of each one.

Didn't say it was did I? Just suggesting an alternative method to
read what is of interest and ignore the rest. And let's not even get
into the top post/bottom post discussion.

Whoa.....when I sent that email the only thing that was in it was my
comment and a short quote of the original question. I did not leave
any "crap" in it. I am not sure what I need to do to be less
"lazy".....This email contains 5 lines of text as I am sending it. I
never get "crap" at the beginning of any of these emails either. Must
be a problem somewhere is in the system?.....Sorry bout any
problems...Doug M
