Epson 4800 Dimensions

Epson 4800 Dimensions

2005-10-18 by Ed Perlstein

I'm about to buy an Epson 4800 and I will have to fit it into a small
workspace. The specs show the dimensions as being 30" deep. If you have
4800, could you please tell me if that depth includes the roll feeder AND
the paper tray that sticks out the front? Also, the Epson product
documentation doesn't seem to indicate that the roll paper feeder is
removable like my 2200. Is this true, or can it be removed if not being
used?

Thanks.

I just looked into this. The footprint of the printer is 24 inches
deep. The rest is the paper tray up front.

I have one sitting right next to me. The actual depth of the printer footprint that sits on
the table surface is only 16 inches. The paper roll housing can be disattched I believe
(there are 4 hand tightened screws, one in each corner), although I have not done this. So
without the paper roll, the minimum you need is the 16 inches plus some room in the
back (Epson recommends 15 inches) if you plan to use the rear feeder. There are a couple
of vent or air intake aperatures in the rear, so you need some room for these to be
effective. In this minimum setup the body of the printer will overhang in front about 2.5
inches (it extends over the footprint) plus the extended paper tray.

Thanks to those who replied with 4800 dimension help. I appreciate it. I
just ordered one and I'm really looking forward to getting into printing in
16x20 with the new K3 inks.
