Lumijet,Lysonic,MIS Monochromes which is best?

Lumijet,Lysonic,MIS Monochromes which is best?

2001-12-27 by Cameraguy5

Does anyone know the difference between Lumijet Preservation
series(Luminos), Lysonic and MIS monochrome inks? I've been
trying out the Lumijet on my 1200, but am now wondering how
the other two compare in quality and problems like head
clogging etc? Lysonic and MIS are a lot cheaper than Lumijet
and would gladly switch if the quality and archival life is the same
or better. Any info and/or user experience would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks for the tip, but I've already looked there, and there is no
information regarding the differences between the various inks.
I'm really looking for some hands-on experience with people
who have used these inks or know about them.
Thanks

Well... Most folks here seem to use piezography ink or MIS (all the
flavors but mostly VM or FS).

I have some experience with Lyson Small Gamut which is a dye based
ink and it is virtually clog free, but not cheap as it is only
available in cartridge form.

I have been using the MIS FS ink as my primary (both with piezo
software and with Epson driver (using John Wolf's curves)for about a
month now... Went through 4 sets of carts with totally no clogs,
banding or anything but perfect nozzle checks... A couple of weeks
now into using FS with CIS and got a microbanding issue yesterday,
cleaning "changed" it but didn't fix it, so I brought out the windex
and and overnight soak gave me perfect nozzle checks again and have
been printing 13x19 prints all day with no issues, so I think this is
a solution that deserves serious consideration.

I have a few VM carts I want to try (in between LSG carts) just to
see how good it is. I doubt that I will actually switch from LSG
because I like making the ocassionaly glossy print and that just
isn't practical with any of the pigment inks...even the pigment mixes
don't really cut it.

I guess I would advise you to find an ink you like and then install a
CIS system to save money, rather than switching inks for economy.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
