Ask Bob Zeiss of MIS about the CIS for the 7000. I believe that he

Has anyone set up a CIS for the 7000 from MIS? How is it working? I'd like
to set one up for the 9000.

I think Mike Kravit has set up a CIS from MIS. I attempted it, but got
nothing but major air in the lines. I sent it all back to Bob. As soon as I
went back to the 9000 carts, all air issues went away. Bob was stumped. I
was using the third generation of the CIS carts, but they still did not work
in my 7000.

[Digital BW] Re: Empty (Virgin) Carts for the 7500 ??

Andy,

Mark is correct. I am currently using a MIS CIS on the 7000. I will
say that there has been some problems with air infiltrating the lines
that was coming from the connections between the tubing and the
backflow preventor. I am not sure if Bob has completely solved the
problem although I received the newest version about 3 weeks ago and
it has been working very well.

The biggest problem that I had was that I initially set the ink
bottles a bit higher than the printer base and as a result go a
greater than normal ink flow. This resulted in blobs of ink steaking
the prints. After a few days of agonizing, we realized what the
problem and lowered the ink bottles to be level with the printer
base. That was 2 weeks ago and since then I have been getting
excellent results.

I still need to run a cleaning cycle every once in a while to clear a
nozzle, but that is it. I am using the MIS FS inks and the Image
Print 4 RIP.

Yes, you can "turn off" the cartridge sensor, at least with the 9500. I have
done it with both of mine (I run a CIS with Gen4 on my 9000 upgraded to
9500, and Indelibles on the new 9500). I will have to look up the
instructions, if someone would like to know the specifics.

2. The easier way (which I know first hand that a few 9500 users do
to run indelible inks in 9000 carts) is to call epson, and they can
tell you how to turn off that sensor in the 7500. They will put up a
huge fight, because you are not using their ink. But that sensor
can
be turned off, and then the printer doesn't care which kind of cart
goes in there.
Hope that helps,

That would be great Diana, as some individuals I know might love to do that.
