Someone posted about Premier Luster Rag recently - I think it was Walt, as he described 
his own "Paper Chase" (sorry Clayton).  I recall him describing some QC problems.

I have been on and off with this paper since July.  It's nice and heavy (325gsm), but there 
are a few things I don't like.  1.  It's got a real curl to it.  2.  It has a pronounced weave - 
looks like linen or canvas - not sure how else to describe it.  3.  With the UC inks, there 
was a serious gloss differential, but this was controllable with PrintShield.  

I just did some quick tests with K3/matte black, and followed the directions on the IJA site.  
I sprayed it with PrintShield BEFORE profiling so as to prevent smudges.  The 98% patch is 
at 2.025, but the 100% patch reverses to 1.876.  That was produced with the following 
settings.  ABW, VFA media type, 2880, high speed, neutral, light.  You have more 
experience with ABW than me.  Do you have any suggestions on eliminating the reversal?  
Stepping down to 1440 still produced a reversal, and the dmax values are less.  (Dry time 
for all these readings was minimal.)

A few thoughts.

This is an extremely large reversal and my first idea would be to not 
spray the surface before printing.  Secondly, I'd try the EEM paper 
type.  Thirdly, you might have to use a RIP for ink limiting.  If you 
are using the 2400 driver, you could try ink limiting on the order of 
5%.  I found none of this useful (I didn't try a RIP) on the 2400 
when I had reversals, and my reversals were very modest compared to 
yours.

My QC comment was about the Premier Hot Press Smooth and Textured.  
Both showed extremely bad QC, and the coating on the smooth was 
inconsistent and often damaged.  Such surfaces would make it 
impossible to print a useful target.

Thanks.  I don't think I'm going to bother with it from what I've now read.
Re your "reversal" I don't really have much advice except to say that
Epson's driver can't be used for everything.  It's designed to work with
their inks and papers and so ink loads and even how it uses the colours is
tailored for each of their ink settings. Stray too far from its intended
purpose and it's not surprising it breaks down.  You have to go to a RIP
which allows you to control ink limits in those situations - or just choose
a different paper that works well with the Epson driver.
