I have not tested it, but I think the R2 inkset is rather a universal one of
Epson hextone (and above) printers. That is, it will probably work very
well in the 1280-90 and even the 2200 (with an LK thrown in).
Previously the UT-FS & FSN were set up as easy systems for the Epson A3
hextone printers. The benefit to the FS approach is that the light inks are
a bit lighter. The negative is that the inks require a monotone curve (a
number are pre-made), a transfer function (the curves just mentioned will
usually work here also), or, now, an ICC (which a scanner can make with
Roy's Create ICC). At the moment, only the FS inks can be purchased
pre-loaded for the Epson hextone A3 printers.
