Digital Printmaking Workshops in the East

2006-04-09 by G Guhan Gunaratnam

Hello,

I live in Toronto, Canada, and I would like to attend a workshop in digital
printmaking. I've looked at the Cone workshops, and Vermont wouldn't be too
far to reach (with my budget). The price is about the most I'd like to pay,
but reasonable. Are their less expensive workshops I can look at?

Of the Cone workshops, I'm interested in the Digital Fine Print Workshop
with George DeWolfe, has anyone attended this workshop?

Thanks in advance,
Guhan

I went to the DeWolfe workshop at Cone Editions at the end of January. George is a
knowledgeable, generous guy whose work I admire, so it was great for me. Go to his website
and look around. If the contemplative/spiritual approach doesn't jibe with your way of
thinking then perhaps another instructor would be better for you.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Cone workshops. Everyone there is involved in
creative work so there's lots of inspiration to be had just from looking at prints lying around
in the studio. Whatever your level I'm sure you could pick up a trick or two to make you time
and money well spent. Everyone is very open and helpful, no attitudes; it's a great
experience.
