epson 2400 manual load

epson 2400 manual load

2006-04-20 by cieloblu22000

Hi, everyone. I am new to the group and happy to have the epson
2400,.... I think. I am having a heck of a
time loading 13x19 vfa paper via the rear manual roll. Other, heavier
papers load easily as does the smaller 8 1/2 x 11 vfa. Has anyone had
experience with this problem and do you have any solutions? I emailed
epson and they said "have patience". I've managed to get the 13x19
paper thru twice(in who knows how many attempts!). However, I don't
know what created that success. I'm not sure it was patience. It felt
more like chance.

I thought vfa was supposed to be loaded from the front, which is also very
tricky to get right. If anyone has a trick that works well, please let us
know.

Also, vfa always scuffs on my 2400, as if the height adjustment is not
correct. On my 2200 there was a height adjustment, but I cannot find any
height adjustment on the 2400. Am I missing something?

In my 2400, I have no problem loading VFA in the normal sheet tray
rather than the single sheet feeder. You just have to set it to do so
in the driver.

Same here, no problems. Just select the sheet feeder after selecting
VFA. I find it helps to put a very slight bend in the leading edge of
the paper, so that it's pointing into the grabber a little bit. If
it's still reluctant, it can also help to give the paper a slight
nudge into the grabber, but most of the time I never need to do this.

Clayton

Clayton,

I don't think you can do this with the Mac driver, but if someone has
a trick to get around this on a Mac let me know. You must select
"manual roll" to use vfa and you are forced to use the rear single
sheet feeder.

Thank you all for your help. I will try the normal sheet feeder.
