Sounds like they've done a good job.

I thought I had Generations color pigs controlled for a while also.
However, with my experiment it didn't last. Weeks later the prints didn't
look good at all. Also, my 1160 couldn't print consistently enough to hold
the neutral profile I'd come up with. (I expect a 7000 might be more
consistent than the 1160.)

Let us know how they look in different light sources and after a few days in
the sun. I have no doubt that ultimately the color inksets will be so good
that's what we'll be using. I'd be surprised if that day is here for those
wanting to do long-lasting B&Ws.

Stephen - the only workflow you need is the press print through the piezo
driver. FS works in exactly the same way - same profiles etc

Thanks Julian. I love the Piezo Ink, but the time has come for me to try
the MIS FS ink.

You will see cooler prints that is all. One of the reasons that I will be
eternally thankful to this list for is that instead of putting up with
clogs, then the greenies, and 480USD inks - i found that alternatives exist!

Re: Full Spectrum / Piezo Workflow

2002-01-14 by tomoc

Stephen-

The workflow is the same as piezography, you just use FS ink instead
of Piezography ink. If you have the software, there is no change.

If you do not have the software, go to Inkjetmall.com and check out
the PiezographyBW information...it's not cheap, but it's worth it for
the great results (though in all truth, the John Woolf curves and the
Epson driver produce equally good prints) and very fast printing.

Paul,

I took the print to the office today to check under fluorescent light. Unfortunately my office has color corrected fluorescent lighting. I guess the good new is, the print looked fine under those lights.

I am placing the print in the window and will check it in 30 days.

Stephen,

Just use the MIS FS inks just as you would with the Piezo driver. No changes to the workflow.

Re: [Digital BW] Re: Full Spectrum / Piezo Workflow

2002-01-15 by Stephen Jennings

I have PiezographyBW but I am looking forward to trying out other workflows
as well, like John Woolf's. If I can find a problem free alternative to
the Piezo inks I'll be a happy man. When the Piezo ink works they are
fabulous, but I've been having too many clogging/banding problems lately.
Does the MIS FS solve these problems?

Since i switched, apart from a cleaning cycle about once a week, I've had
no problems. With up to date FS your prints will have the same density as
piezo prints - they will just look cooler.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
