UT-3D Ink in Cartridges?

UT-3D Ink in Cartridges?

2006-05-12 by Tom Husband

Does MIS have plans to put this ink in carts? My luck or skill hasn't
been good refilling both sponge and spongeless types. I haven't tried
it on 2200 carts just the 1280 carts however.

Thanks,

Tom Husband

Yes, I assume they will. The bulk inks just let them get some on the market
quickly.

The easy to fill 2200 carts really are easy.

Thanks Paul,

Maybe I should give refilling another shot.

This is kind of an off shoot to the original thread, but I saw that MIS
shows refillable carts for the larger K3 printers. I don't know
anything more about them, sorry.

Does MIS make empty spongeless carts for the 2200? I sure can't find
them on their site.

Thanks,

Tom

The ones I'm using have a spongeless reservoir, but then a chamber above the
outlet that does have a sponge. I've had very good luck with them. When
first loaded they do need to be primed with a syringe. I don't think I'm
doing anything else that might be omitted when loading them. I don't see
the sponge as a source of any particular problems.

I've had good luck with the MIS sponge carts. My oldest set are on six
refills, and no sponge related clogs. They cost me $5.50/cart, so even
if the sixth fill turns out to be the last, that's better than $1 per
fill.

The spongeless carts I received from an eBay vendor mentioned on this
list "drooled" ink into the printer. The cleanup cost much more (in my
time) than the carts would ever save me.

WeInk has a set of eight spongeless carts for $155. That's $19/cart.
(They say this "includes tools", but I have no need of any more
syringes). Now, maybe $19/cart lasts forever. Maybe it doesn't. Maybe
WeInk gets the carts from is different source than the ones that
drooled, and maybe they're the same carts.

I'm staying with the sponge carts.
