Can anyone recommend a graphics tablet? I've had a quick look at
Wacom tablets, but they seem awfully expensive

Thanks
Gareth

Yes the Wacom are expensive, but a good tablet is really a necessity
when you have a lot of touch up work to do. If you are restoring old
photos, where there is a lot of damage, they can be indispensable. The
Wacom tools are highly refined, and I suggest that you get one of the
tablets that can use the airbrush tool. If you really need to go with
a different tablet, try one of these:

I've been using the 12x12 DrawingBoard3 for more than 6 years. Skip
all the other pointers and just get the pressure sensitive pen. The
mouse like devices are really designed for CAD use, and the regular
pen is not as useful in Photoshop.

If money is no object, I think the Wacom Cintiq might be pretty close
to ideal.

At home, I use an Intuos 3 6x8 tablet. It's good for general Photoshop work and is not too
big on the desktop (it's a little big for my crowded workspace). At work, where my shop is
not really retouching photos, I have - I think it's - a Graphire 3 4x6. It's not adequate for
general Photoshop work; too small.

Yes. But, they are good. I have the Intuos 3, 6x8 and love it.

Hello Gareth,

I have a Wacom that I never use and would sell cheap. It's about 8"
square with a 4x5 work area, and has the pen and mouse. Please email
me if you're interested.

Clayton
