FWIW: Innova F-type Gloss, SR, FAP dmax measurements
2006-07-14 by edrudolpho
Here are dmax readings from Innova F-type Gloss, Silver Rag and Fine Art Pearl, K3 inks on a 2400, measured with an Eye-one spectro using the QTR 21x4 Random tif. These were all printed using the Premium Semigloss Photo Paper media type, Best Photo print quality, and an Ink Config value of -3%. Innova. 2.42 Silver Rag 2.45 Fine Art Pearl 2.05 I printed the FAP again using an Ink Config value of 0 and the dmax went to about 2.01 or 2.02. It's early to say and I've only printed one or two images on all three but, subjectively, and initially, I prefer the Silver Rag. It's surface is smoother than I'd expected, smoother than the batches of Innova I've been using. It's gloss differential seems a little worse than the Innova. With the Innova if there were small spots of value 255 in the image, they were scarcely visible on the print. With Silver Rag the bare paper is noticeably different from the inked portion. Ed
