Daylight Darkroom with 2000P
2006-08-30 by David Miller
Solved the problem today with the help of Dustin at Photofile. Turns out the ink position for the 2000P is different, and the blue one had the curve for the lt grey as I had begun to believe, and the lt grey a "toner" curve. So, I edited the profile, switching the curves from one to the other as is possible with Profile Creator, and got a print without the color cast. Now it's just a process of altering any of the packaged profiles I want to use (they're all built in the same way ergo wrong) which only take a couple of minutes now that I know what I'm doing, and then fine tuning the print coloration. Yes, the customer support wasn't good, but a referal to Dustin at Photofile was helpful and resulted in a solution. I learned a lot about profile creation along the way and came out with a pretty good one for Museo Silver Rag which I just did a small test print on... Must be the only person using this combination. Oh, well, next printer is a 4800 anyway... Dave __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
