Digital BW, The Print

I tried my first digital negatives with the r2400 yesterday, and guess 
what...  I got pooling and banding! To be honest, I was expecting that 
to happen and just wanted to to start with a referance point.  I'm 
getting better results on 'darkest' with the colour density dropped to 
-10% and the print time set to max, but I'm still getting banding.

I've just downloaded the QT rip and I'm getting used to the layout, etc.
I've printed a few test-strips out the 'premium glossy photo' setting, 
still getting the banding though. >8(   Gonna keep on trying.

I'm using PermaJet (fine art) Transparency OHP Transfer Film (165u)
(I've been told that it's the euro version of Pictorico) 

Is the r2400 capable of producing Digital negs for Alt Process?
