i want to experiment with some "new looks" and wondered if there are
any papers that look hand-made, sometimes called Japanese paper, that
are coated for inkjet photo printing. I'm also open to other media
suggestions
thanks

Hello Frank:
Check out Digital Art Supply in Southern California here:
http://www.digitalartsupplies.com/jappapcoatfo.html
They have a nice selection of 15 or so types of Japanese inkjet papers.
They will send a swatch book if you ask.

Paul - Airborne particles in pollution can block some UV radiation, so it may be
that if there is
significantly less pollution there than here, the amount of UV light reaching a
print would be greater.
Solar angles can also determine the relative amount of UV light that reaches the
earth.
