Re: [Digital BW] Matting materials

I mistakingly posted this question on the inkoptions list, it was meant for this list. I am about to mat a group of inkjet prints. What I have been hearing is that I should use nonbuffered rag board because I am using dye inks. I was planning on leaveing a 1/4 inch border around the image, so that the board would not touch the ink. I can't see how this would cause a problem, or would the entire printed sheet,LPM, be at risk on a buffered matboard. In the past I've used Light Impressions Westminster rag board, usually the buffered variety, or teir Exeter brand which is buffered but not 100% cotton rag. They offer the buffered varieties in an 8 ply depth which I find appealing. The non buffered only comes in 4 ply. Any thoughts? David
