1280 / UT2 / Pizza wheels marks?..

Hi All. After installing the UT2 inks I've ordered this week, I've 
noticed lines going across the print. I've done some research and 
concluded it's the 'pizza wheel' syndrome. After removing them, the 
issue still remains. I've tried cleaning/aligning the print head, no 
luck. I've just purchased this printer two weeks ago refurbished from 
Epson.

Should I be considering taking the printer apart and cleaning it, or is 
there another trick some of you may know of?..

Sorry, forgot to mention: what's odd is that I'm not even using glossy 
paper. My basic test paper is Epson Photo Quality Inkjet paper (matte).

If the lines are horizontal and not vertical, it's banding, not pizza wheels
(which are also only a problem on glossy paper).  Be sure the nozzle checks
are perfect.

Yes, the lines are horizontal. Evenly spaced, about 1mm apart, 
running across the print. They are more pronounced in darker areas. 
The nozzle test checks out, but I've ran a few cleaning cycles 
anyway. I'm also printing BO during this troubleshooting process to 
simplify things. What's odd is that the lines only started printing 
after I swapped the inks. The other change that took place at the 
same time was changing the color settings in Photoshop (as per the 
UT2 readme), but I doubt that has anything to do with it. I've since 
replaced the Epson stock ink in trying to revert to original state, 
but that obviously didn't make a difference.

I'm at a loss.. so any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated! :)

You might try the head alignment routine.  Also, see if the lines are the
same whether the printing is done with curves or sliders.  There is a range
of quality among the printers.  Some do have banding that is too much. Many
have it if examined under a loupe.  (This may be an area the thermal
printers with the huge number of jets have an advantage over the Epsons.)
Pigment ink spreads less than the dyes, so it may be better hidden by the
OEM dyes.
