Anyone set up with Pints?

Anyone set up with Pints?

2002-01-29 by lyonscox

I'm not sure if there is a difference between CIS and CFS?
They're the same concept I presume.

Is it correct most people set up with 4oz bottles? Instead of larger
Pints? I'm a typical overkill buyer :-) but trying to cut back on
that impulse.

Some of this doesn't make sense until you consider a purhcase,
therefore the questions get asked again & again.

I recall the recommendation of the "niagra" system available at MIS
but not sure I would (or do) currently understand the differences of
what's being offered at either Inkjetart.com or Inkjetmall.com

Thanks,

Cleavis

Cleavis,

go to nomorecarts.com site for more info. The buzz I hear is in favor of their
product (of which I own 2). If you are using CIS on a chipped printer (1270
etc), make sure whatever you choose overrides the Epson chip in an elegant
way. Conetech and Mediastreet (Niagra) have both adopted nomorecarts for
their product line. Pretty good endorsement in my book.

Cleavis,

I wouldn't run with pints. Buy pints by all means, but always pour into the
standard 4oz bottles provided with the Niagara-type systems of MediaStreet
et al. This is a rebranded NoMoreCarts CIS ... the system at MIS is NOT a
NoMoreCarts CIS, but their own make.

Many people do like the MIS 'CFS' but it looks like a lot more hassle to me,
and somehow just seems a little less 'complete' - especially when it comes
to chipped carts (like 1270 / 80 / 90) where I believe the NMC CIS / Niagara
wins hands-down!

Best regards,
Nij

FYI: Lumijet now has their own CFS, on paper it looks like NoMoreCarts
CIS. It uses the chip carts. For 1270/80 only
at this time.

Cleavis-

The one advantage the CFS has over the nomorecarts flavors is that
there is a filter screen at the bottom of the carts to keep junk from
hitting and clogging the heads. The creature comforts (very easy to
prime, set up and critical for chipped cart printers to reset the
cart to full automatically) heavily favor the nomorecarts version.

I am using one with MIS FS by the way and in about 2 months of
printing and nearly the full 4oz. Bottle gone, have never had a clog
that didn't resolve with a single nozzle check and clean.
