I agree with Clayton; I find I also get slight changes in color after
changing carts on a R1800 and R2400, especially if the cart being changed is
fairly old. Pigments settle out with time, so the ink gets lighter. Can't
you simply correct it with the ABW color correction wheel?

Did you just change a LM cart? I've experienced on two occasions
differences in LM intensity after changing a cart. This can effect
the magenta/green balance. The first time it was a very slight
difference, the 2nd time was more pronounced. I assume it's
differences in production batches.

This wasn't at all subtle. It's fixed now, however -- it turned out to
be a faulty LM cart -- when I changed it out, my prints went back to
normal.

Thanks for the tip, though, it did lead me to the problem.

Welcome to our world Ms. Thompson. You should try it with a bigger printer. Some of those prints make me cry when they hit the trash. Sigh...

Sarah, Do you shake your carts BEFORE you install them? I can certainly
understand the frustration of uneven color, but sometimes simply shaking the
cart before we use them, will take care of those problems. There is of
course, little you can do to take care of bad batches of ink, short of doing
a really good foo doo dance. When strange things happen shortly after an
ink change, one should look to the cart as a possible source.
