Epson 1280 Black only printing

Epson 1280 Black only printing

2007-08-25 by kb7smm

I am interested in using by epson 1280 in the black only mode for
printing my b/w prints. From MIS I would only need to purchase their
Plus kit to get started. (I1280-UT2-K-PL UT2 Eboni Black Refill kit for
Epson 1280 Kit includes 6 4oz bottles of UT2 Ink w/Eboni Black Syringes
and Needles Plus kit includes cartridges chips and chip resetter). I
plan to use Epson Heavyweight matte paper for all my prints at this
time.

Hopefully this would be all I need to get started.

How will their black ink work with epson color ink for my color prints?

Any advise would be appreciated.

That is WAY too much to spend to get started with BO. There is no
need to buy 6 bottles of ink when you only need one. Just get the
single Eboni bottle and leave the color inks in place.

Another thing to consider, if you haven't actually tried printing BO
yet, is just buy a single pre-filled Eboni cart and give it a try.
They last for a surprisingly long time because BO printing uses such a
small amount of ink. You'll know if you like BO printing by the time
this cart is used up.

If you like it and want to continue, all you'll need is a 2nd empty
cart, some syringes with the 2" blunt needles, the chip resetter, and
the 4 oz. bottle of Eboni. No need to buy that entire kit, and
certainly not before you're certain about BO for the long haul.

There is some detailed info about BO printing at the web site below.

Regards,
Clayton

If you're going to use true Black Only the one ink you
need is MIS Eboni (for matt prints) in the black cart.
The color cart could have cleaning solution in all 5
color positions. Shouls save you a lot of money!
