Cartridge refill or manufacturing parts

Cartridge refill or manufacturing parts

2007-11-13 by Paul Roark

I've been alerted to some items that might help with respect to refilling,
and perhaps even replacing patented parts. Check out the following URLs:

http://www.therecycler.com/viewarticle.asp?article=1128 ,

http://www.rjettek.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/486 has a video,

and www.professorpromax.com .

I have not tried these solutions.

Paul,

I'm very surprised you've had no responses to your post yet. I'm
relatively new here myself, so have hung back till now. I'm in this
quality b/w digital printing world for only a few months now.

But you, Clayton Jones, Jon Cone and I'm sure others, are the 'go to'
people in this field. So, I would think your posting of this
alternative to this Epson conundrum we now find ourselves in would be
most welcome, and would generate a lively thread.

These Brits seem to be on to something... from what I glean after
perusing your links, this seems a very possible way out of the
quandary we now find ourselves in. I'm looking forward to see how this
approach develops!

Regards, and thanks for your leadership,

Paul (another one) Whiting

I have also waited. Can cleaning solvents clean the Epson cartridges well enough, so MIS
or Cone inks can be used in them? Using OEM cartridges will mean no ill fitting cartridges
for our Epson printers.

Re:Cartridge refill or manufacturing parts

2007-11-16 by Daniel Hein

I called R-JetTek (rjettek.com) today and inquired about their Epson
cartridge refill kit. Saleswoman "Linda" told me it was legal re:
the Epson lawsuit. The "Super Valve Plug Kit" is priced at $74.95
and includes some needed tools to penetrate the cartridge and 20
small valves, one of which is inserted into the cartridge to be
refilled.

A basic kit at $24.95 per color cartridge is also available and
recommended to avoid cross contamination. It amounts to 20 more
valves, a waste ink bottle, a separate injector syringe/nozzle...in
short, all the items that come in contact with the ink. Linda told
me it was possible to use only the Super Kit but it needed to be
cleaned very thoroughly between uses. The basic kit makes
cleanliness easier since each one of these "kits" is devoted to each
color used. (Gets expensive if the printer uses 8 or 9 catridges)

There is a brief video on the site. Looks very easy. Also looks as
though one could assemble their own collection of bottles and
syringes to act as the "basic kit" for each color cartridge used.

She did not state that all the old Epson ink could be purged from a
used cartridge such that a B/W inkset could be used. It would seem
to be a possible system for an Epson 2400 using ABW.
