Proof paper for use with gloss fiber papers
2008-02-11 by wwodets
There was a question recently on the forum about what proof papers people were using with the new gloss papers, but I don't think there were any responses. I've tried a few and found something quite good for proofing Harman Gloss. This is Canon "Gloss Photographic Paper 190 gsm." (Be careful because they have others with very similar names.) It's a good image, a dmax of 2.2 (vs. 2.4 for the Harman) and a has a very predictive image for the Harman. I am using all, including the proof paper, with QTR ICC profiling. The paper is about 50 cents a 13 x 19 sheet in boxes of 100. On a related note for those in the S.F. Bay Area, now that I have moved to PK and the Harman paper, I have a large stock of unopened VFA (13 x 19 and 17 x 22) and Epson Ultra Smooth (13 x 19) for sale if anyone is interested. Good prices.
