is there a way of using epson 1800 carts til ink is gone,possibly resetting chip when red light appears? seems to be more ink in cart at this point. thanks,bruce

You need to get a resetter for your cartridges. When the print monitor says you need to change the cartridge, take it out of the printer and reset the chip. Put it back in and make a note of the fact that this color has been reset. When the ink monitor for the cartridges shows that this color is down 25% you must manually take out this cartridge and put in a new full one. Change your note to show that this color is new. Note, the 25% has been safe for me on a 2200 over about 50 cartridges. One time, when I was testing this, I let the Magenta run longer and at about 27% on the monitor the Magenta quit and Green grass turned Cyan for the rest of the print. Your percentage may vary. Resetting the cartridges and getting another 25% from each means that I get one more cartridge worth out of every four cartridges. Buying my cartridges from Atlex for $8.90 each means I wouldn't consider using third party ink. I've only had to do a heat clean twice in over two years and Epson's archival properties are well known. Hope this helps others get 25% more out of their cartridges. Don

thanks don,can you use same resetter used for the mis refillable carts?also not sure if epson print monitor gives ink percentages in mac format,I've not seen them.thanks again,bruce

Epson 2200 cartridges are $8.90 at Atlex today. Epson R1800 cartridges are $10.99 at Atlex. Sorry for the confusion. I did mention the 2200 in the text. Don

The resetter you need is the one for YOUR Epson printer. Even if the print monitor doesn't show percentages, all you have to do is be able to tell when about 25% is gone. On the PC, Epson print monitor shows the ink status as a bar with marks at 25, 50, and 75%. MIS cartridges may have more or less ink in them so you will have to watch your prints and choose your own setting. Don
