Tom,

I really do not know. I talk too much and these guys won't tell me anything anymore. ;-)

  Mike-

Could this be the Piezo 2? I'm told that Cone has licensed Image
Print and added his storehouse of profiles to "customize" it.

Does anyone know what B&W inksets (other than Piezo) are supported by
Imageprint?

Recently (2 days ago) I had a discovered a problem with the ImagePrint 4 RIP. I sent an email to John and Daniel explaining the problem and sent them two prints and a disk of my file. Within hours of the FedEx delivery I received a telephone call from the owner of Colorbyte (John) telling me that a new version of the RIP fixing the "bug" was in the mail. He appreciated me finding the bug. First class tech support, customer support and two really nice guys. Colorbyte Software in Tampa has my A++ rating.

  Tom,

see my message 8371 for more details on this. And, yes, is the answer to your
question. Briefly: the prices are the same. You choose between ConeTech
profiles and tech sup vs Colorbyte's included profiles plus free bw profiles for
whatever ink/paper combo you would like to use.

Any chance these RIPs can control the variable-tone inksets?

I've never used one, so I'm not completely sure what the advantages might
be. However, independent control of the black ink would clearly be a
benefit.

Paul,

Each channel is controllable. You may want to contact Colorbyte Software (John) and ask him.
