Is there a way to mount Leica M lenses on a Canon DSLR. I know that

I'd also be interested in Leica M and SL adapters to a Nikon mount, if any
such device exists.

I think it would be difficult to achieve infinity focus, at least for the
wide angles, as the design of the M lenses is optimised for the rangefinder
which allows a closer focussing distance than would be typical in an SLR
with its mirror box.

The flange<>film distance doesn't allow any M or LTM lens to
focus to infinity on any APS or 35 m SLR or DSLR if I'm not
mistaken. Not even on a Pen F . Leica Visoflex lens
adapters exist for some other camera mounts though. And it
is likely that you will be able to mount Leica S2 lenses on
an FF DSLR in the future. If you can afford it.

An adapter for Micro 4/3 mount (Panasonic G1) will probably
be the matchmaker for a lot of lens widows like Pen F,
Canon FD and more obscure short register mount lenses that
didn't allow normal 4/3 adapters. Cameraquest will get new
business.
