>Chip swap is easy and usually solves the problem - be careful not to let these carts run out completely before refilling/resetting - you can also take a chip from the right color OEM cart if you have one around

> I think you'll find the auto-reset chips are on holders that slide out sideways and are fairly easily interchangeable without the need for any tools or a resetter.  So, of the one on the empty cart worked or you have one on a new cart, just swap the defective one for one that (hopefully) works.
