Source of low cost computers -- OT

Source of low cost computers -- OT

2009-08-08 by andre1moreau

IBM has been selling online low cost refurbished desktop and laptop computers for some time. There are refurbished and come with a new or near new keyboard and mouse, genuine installed Windows Pro plus a three to 6 six months warranty depending on models.

They can be dedicated to printing or to the internet if one wishes to isolate his main system. Although I would not use them with Windows Vista, I think, and this just a personal opinion, that recently announced Windows 7 would work without problems.

Cheers,
Andre

NB: I have no connection with the above vendor other than being a customer.

If you wouldn't use them with Vista, I darn sure wouldn't use them
      with Win 7.

Although 7 is a step up from Vista, it is also another MS migration to
get people into 64-bit. It does have options to "run as XP," but so
does Vista.

W7's XP mode is not a set of options, it's a full copy of XP running in a
virtual machine.
