Possible to use QTR to make B&W and color prints in same printer?

Possible to use QTR to make B&W and color prints in same printer?

OK, I have successfully profiled the Epson 1400 using the K,Y,M channels with the C6 Paul's black ink approach. It works great using only 3 carts.

Now I'd like to put cyan, yellow and magenta color MIS inks in the other unused LM, C, and LC carts to also print color on this printer, using QTR ...has anyone done this, and how do you start off with a simple 'curve' to output only the K, LM, C and LC inks onto the paper?...

I've tried everything so far, but dead-ends...I'm sure it can be done. When QTR prints out those calibration prints, it prints out exactly what I'm looking for, with all the colors straight out of the cartridges. Any hints? Thanks a lot!

QTR will not take multi channel input, no matter how many colors you have available for output in the printer. It really is a driver for grayscale files specifically.
I don't think there's anything available to accomplish what you've described, for the 1400.

On the other hand I see some signs that quad descriptions were added to
Gutenprint, the (step)mother of QTR.

Indeed it has a MIS inks options, but when I experimented with it, it solarized the print...has anybody used it right?
