I think Dieter does not want to reinvent the videotape mechanism for audiotapes. Cartdrige-drives (which might make it a little bit easier) are closed to unknown and unavailable here in Europe (at least I have never seen them here). What might be interesting: an CV-interface for well known tape decks like a Revox B77 or PR99. These already have Control-Inputs for the capstan speed, which should be easy to be interfaced with the A100.
