hello anton, thank you for the detailed explanation. i see that such a module would be very usefull indeed. something like this could be achived with the a152 in combination with the a156 and a155. ] but, the a152 has 8 cv outputs and 8 gate outs, not 12 at least, as the module you suggested. (if you connect a common clock to the a155 and a152 and then connect the a156 quantized cv out to the T & H input of the a152, then you have 8 quantized cv outputs plus 8 gate outputs from the a152). am i right? regards, Bakis. --- Anton Coops <dubshot@xs4all.nl> wrote: > Hi Bakis, > > Well, I guess that there are basically 2 uses for > any quantizer > (correct me if I'm wrong please) > > 1. correcting/tuning the output from a sequencer > 2. deriving note-sequences (melodies, arpeggio's) > from any voltage > source, like an lfo, adsr, noise, complex envelopes > etc. etc > > If Chuck sees no use for a 'breakout box' for > individual note-values, > my guess would be that he uses a quantizer primarily > to tune a > sequencer. > > But I think quite a few people on this list have > allready asked for > something a little more sophisticated than the > a-156, to be able to > customise or finetune the scales, melodies, > arpeggio's or whatever it > is they want to derive from some dynamic voltage > source. > > I think a minimum option would be 12 cv-outputs for > each of the 12 > values of the a-156, for building custom scales. > Once you can get to > these individual values, you could finetune them > further with the high > precision adder that's coming up?
