Indeed a serious discussion about problems and seems like synt...com take their pr seriously. Perhaps this has a bit to do with the fact that users sometimes also build their modular from kits. It is more of an indepth relation with their machine. I asked mr D about some help replacing my power supply and he tried very hard to convince me not to even try it. I got a most kind note that they wanted to keep me as an alive and satisfied customer. So I got good service from Doepfer, but it reflects a disbelief in their customer stock. They treat us a bit like john does buying a VCR, as for MOTM treating their users more like technicians. I feel that Doepfers position is the right here actually - more people are techno-morons that skilled. None the less I am getting a better and better feeling about the motm, so don't be surpriced if you did steer me into getting some one day... but not now - now I am looking for a good home cinema setup. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ringmod45" <ringmod45@yahoo.com> To: <Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Monday, July 22, 2002 7:55 PM Subject: [Doepfer_a100] Re: touch keys > hi mike, i concurrently agree with you on almost all of the points > you mention. the plus side to the motm is the way modules, functions > and layouts are discussed with its customers before they go to > production. that's what i was referring to and not the other stuff. > > i read the posts you mention below, they do not endear me to motm. i > don't like the trashing everyone gets from motm. i just like the > fact, that at least there is some communication involved. with > doepfer you are always in the dark. this is the best market research > group doepfer could ever have and they constantly ignore certain > requests for info or upgrades that are desperately needed. > > > i am not an motm user and don't think i will buying any of their > products soon. i am not trying to influence doepfer customers to > switch their way. i just wish doepfer was a little more involved with > the group. i should have mentioned Synthesisers.Com as well. please > check out this group. > > i am not trying to bring back the old stuff of the past, but instead > look to the future where Doepfer can be a little more open with its > customers and this group. it would be nice if doepfer did discuss > with the group on the polls and keep us in the loop. from the sounds > of mr. doepfer's email, maybe a legitimate poll from doepfer would be > the answer to their "problem child" . maybe a little market research > with this group will help in the design process to avoid > disappointments from all sides. > > hope it is easier :) > RM > > > > > --- In Doepfer_a100@y..., "its_peake" <its_peake@y...> wrote: > > --- In Doepfer_a100@y..., "ringmod45" <ringmod45@y...> wrote: > > <snip> > > > i want to enlighten a few of you as to how a company should react > and > > > use its group members for input on its new and upcoming designs. > > > > > > THE GROUP IN QUESTION IS MOTM. please go to the group and read > how > > > the designers and customers work together in order to release a > > > product. layout and design features are planned and discussed to > > > avoid any screw ups or lack of features. > > > > Are you referring to this discovery: > > > > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/motm/message/15562 > > > > This conclusion: > > > > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/motm/message/15617 > > > > And this response: > > > > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/motm/message/15619 > > > > (Sorry, no money-back guarantee like Synthesizers.com) > > > > > > These classic responses to new feature requests: > > > > > - VC ADSR, > > > > ZZZzzzzzzzzz......... > > > > Subject: Re: [AH] 2002 preview / MOTM > > Date: Wed, 21 Nov 2001 20:17:50 -0600 > > > > > > 24dB Highpass filters: > > > > > > Later, this is probably the least useful of any filter. > > > > > > Strongly disagree.
