hello joerg, this is pretty much a matter of taste. both have their benefits. the a122 sounds cleaner and tracks better, when you use it at self-oscillation. it also has voltage-controlled resonance, a cool feature. on the other hand the a120 has a more characterful sound, especially when the a120 has a modified input stage (a changed resistor, which makes the input more sensitive). i guess you don't have to do this modification by yourself, you can order an a120 with this modification from doepfer, but i'm not sure. if i had to decide between a122 and a120, i'd go for a modified version of the a120, but as i said, it's all a matter of taste and your desired application. best wishes ingo --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, "Joerg_Erren" <joerg_erren@y...> wrote: > > Hi there! > I´m wondering which one sounds better: The A-120 (Moog Style) or the > A-122 (Oberheim style)?
