I think you're right. 3.5mm jacks are fine and mate with Blacet, Wiard, AS, etc. Regarding the size factor, it sometimes amuses me to consider that the gigantic Moog 55 had only about 28 modules in it -- about the quantity in maybe 3 or 4 rows of Doepfer. But of course you can't

I agree, mini-jacks suit me alot better that large ones. I made some convertor modules that convert mini-jack to large jack for when I'm patching to my Korg MS10 or SQ10 but generally I prefer mini ones. Alot of people used to complain about the connections on these doepfer jacks
