Which Wells book is better, the 1974 edition written with Eric Vogel or the 1981 edition with no co-author?

Bryan

IMO the Strange book seems more like an analog synth beginner's book
and many may outgrow it rather quickly. My favorite is "The
Technique of Electronic Music" by Thomas Wells.

amazon.co.uk had a few of the 1981 edition. I picked one up there for £20

If I remember correctly, the 2nd edition is mostly an update (plus
some new stuff) of the 1st edition (currently I only have the 2nd
edition). I think the second is also a different publisher (wasn't
the 1st some college press?). Don't know why Vogel's name was
removed later (or what his specific contribution was for the
original).

I picked an unused pristine copy (hardbound!) on ebay for $10.
Luckily it's not as hyped as Strange's book - so nobody else bid on
it! I've seen it on Amazon too.
