A163 Question?

A163 Question?

2006-12-08 by bellenger_a

HELLO

I just recieve A163... Something bizarre : when I put in cable to CV In (LFO sine for ex.),
with both knobs totally ccw to 0 position.... the CV DOES AFFECT the coming in signal (PLL
rect. for ex.)

Is that BIZARRE OR NOT?

and then if I turn on the knobs they do work...

OTHERWISE A188-1 together with A106-1 is JUST QUITE INCREDIBLE OPTIONS....

Best,

Alexandre

Please look at the user's manual (page 2):

"For the first production series the inscription of the CV
knob 2 is wrongly 0...10 instead of -5...0...+5. The information
in this manual are correct, i.e. left stop = -5,
middle position = 0, right stop = +5"

As the A-163 is not a sales hit the first batch of front panels is still in
use.

Best wishes

Hello Alexandre, IIRC the CV pot works the other way round => CW =
fully attentuated => CCW = CV left unattentuated. Regards, Ingo

I'm having the exact same problem as you describe Alexandre. Anything I plug into the CV
input of the 163 seems to bypass the CV attenuator like it is not even there. I just received
this system about 2 weeks ago and am not experiencing any other oddities except this. It
seems broken and my next step was to pull it out and see if something was shortedoutthat
I could spot easily - then I saw your post here.... A bad run of modules or a bad part
perhaps?
Ideas anyone?
Phil
