Replacement slide Nuts for rails

2008-01-24 by nicholas.rejack@elf.mcgill.ca

I am planning to remove the tapped rails in my Doepfer suitcase and
replace them with slide nuts. I looked at the Proma Systro page and it
looks like ones that will fit are DIN 562 M3. Is this correct? Also, if
anyone knows of US distributors for these parts, please let me know.
Mdmetric.com is one that I found.

I have some asys modules that are taking up extra room and I want all
the modules flush. Cutting the rails is one option, but I wanted to be
able to return to original condition if needed.

even then I'd recommend to by a spare rail and to cut it. It is
extremely annoying to mount a module on a rack with single slide nuts in
the rails. Only a slight push to the housing or wrong kick with the
screw and the nut is gone behind the frontplate and you have to remove
the complete module again.
