A-143-1 mix out stopped working, Help!

A-143-1 mix out stopped working, Help!

2008-06-01 by theglyph2000

Everything else is working OK but I was using the Mix Out (LFO out) to
drive my Plan B model 13 when it suddenly stopped outputing its CV signal!

Any thoughts on what could have gone wrong or how to fix it would be
greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

My first idea: the internal connection is broken. It's a blank wire that
connects the solder point "JP4" of all four boards, located behind the mix
polarizer potentiometer at the pcb edge. But I'd wonder why this should
break if the module is connected to Peter Grenader's model 13 :-)

If this is not the reason: check the common output socket.

Otherwise the module has to be repaired.

Best wishes

i had a similar problem with my 143-2. the normalizing gates didn't
normalize to env # 1. the blank wire that went through all four
circuit boards appeared ok, but further scrutiny revealed that it had
some "wiggle" to it. it needed to be soldered again, though the wire
itself was not broken at all, just too loose to have a good
connection at the joints.

as soon as i re-melted the solder that was already there it worked
perfectly.

I check things out tomorrow at work.
