Trigger/Clock divider questions/ A163 mod?

Trigger/Clock divider questions/ A163 mod?

2008-12-05 by achtung_999

Hello list,
I was looking to get some more A160's to do my dividing duties it suddenly
dawned on me that the A160 is a bit limited in features.
Actually it is focused on 4/4 based music.
Since I mainly make beatless electro acoustic music in which I deal more
with triggering events than musical 'notes' I would like to have uneven
divisions too.
(I guess if I would make music with beats I still would like to have uneven
divisions also..).

Anyway, I looked at the A163 and like what I see. But I noticed it is not DC
coupled.
I mainly work with random trigger/gate signals so I really need the DC
coupling I guess.
And also: I can't seem to find the mod anywhere on the doepferlist.. I'd
like to see how the mod is done before I buy an A163... Anyone?

Greats,

Ernst

Since about 2 years the A-163 are equipped with an additional pin header
that is soldered on the bottom side of the pc board. If this jumper is set
the module is DC coupled (i.e. can be used even with clock, trigger or gate
signals). If the jumper is removed it's AC coupled (mainly for audio
applications). But in most cases the module can be used even in DC mode for
audio applications.

Best wishes

Oh Dieter, this jumper thing is not yet mentioned on the website description
for the A163.And also not in the manual PDF. Maybe something to change?

You are right. We will have to add this information.
