Doepfer

I have a A174, and am considering buying a second. In order to use multiple A174 in a table top configuration as I desire I want to invert the module physically, so the joystick is at the bottom, or front. this way I don't have to reach over the cables when I have the module placed horizontally in a table top case. 

I tried simply rotating the joystick, but the potentiometers stuck out the side of the module so much a blanking panel would be needed.

Is there a way to invert the voltage of the axis in the A174? I notice there appears to be some pins where jumpers could go on the PCB. What are they for? If not that, could I just reverse the wiring on the joystick pots (meaning the ribbon that connects the joystick to the PCB)?

- I would consider the FoH Choices, but the front panel design makes my eyes bleed :)

I did this to a AS joystick I have. I'm not sure what the Doepfer  
looks like inside but all I did to the AS one was to invert the cables  
running from the lug on the joystick pot to the PCB. now the right is  
left and the up is down. I don't know if the Doepfer joystick is PCB  
mounted or not but even if it is I'm sure there is a resistor you can  
disconnect  or a trace you can cut and do the same thing. I have two  
used AS joysticks and one apparently was made for mounting in the  
French Connection keyboard because it's orientation is reverse from  
the other (and all the other pictures except the FC's on their  
website). I also use my portable cabinets in the flat position and  
having the cables at the top make all the difference. I imagine all  
monster case users think about this too.

From the theory it should work if you swap the cables leading to the end
terminals of each potentiometer (the center cable remains unchanged). The
jumpers are used to install/remove a voltage plateau around in the center
position (installed = no plateau).
